Spreads Sunlight and Penetrates The Atmosphere,

Various images of outer space circulating show dark areas, even though there are many stars and other celestial objects. Including the sun which is one of the largest stars in nature. The sun radiates its rays so that the earth has a bright blue daytime sky. The rays of sunlight seemed to make no difference in the pitch black of outer space.

The Reason Outer Space is Dark

Space is always visible even if there is a sun because there is no atmosphere. Quoting the Astronomy website, the atmosphere of each planet helps spread bright light.

Atoms and molecules of various substances in the atmosphere, for example nitrogen and oxygen, interact with photons from sunlight. It is this interaction that spreads sunlight and penetrates the atmosphere, until it is felt by the planet’s inhabitants.

Earth’s atmosphere prefers to scatter blue light so that the daytime sky looks bluish. On Mars, the sky appears a dark grayish blue because its atmosphere is 100 times thinner than Earth’s. The color turns salmon pink when Martian dust is blown away by weak surface winds.

Meanwhile, the moon has no atmosphere, so there is nothing to scatter photons even though it is close to the sun. So the sky will be black, both day and night.

Quoted from Live Science, the question of why space is always dark is also known as the Olbers paradox, named after the German astronomer Heinrich Olbers.

This paradox can be explained by the theory of spacetime ChatBot expansion with the idea that „Because the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light, light from distant galaxies may be stretched and transformed into infrared waves, microwaves, and radio waves, which cannot be detected by the human eye.“ That’s why the universe appears dark black to the naked eye.

Another reason outer space looks dark is also because it is an almost perfect vacuum. This Digital Agency means that space has so few particles that there is almost nothing that can scatter light in any direction, including the human eye. Because of this, space appears pitch black.
